Director's Message

On Friday, May 28, 2010 the Governor signed House Bill H3066 into law.  Effective immediately all statements of organization, campaign disclosure forms, statements of economic interests, lobbying registration forms and lobbying disclosure forms filed with the State Ethics Commission must be filed electronically.  This requirement applies to all elected officials, all candidates, all committees, all PAC's, all Parties, and all lobbyists and lobbyist's principals.  All public employees, (non-elected, appointed and hired) who are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests are also included.

Paper copies will be returned with instructions to contact the Commission for a username and instructions.  Filers must provide the Commission with an e-mail address when username is obtained.

Welcome to the State Ethics Commission's web-site.  As the state agency responsible for enforcement of the state's ethics laws, we hope that this web site will provide public officials and public employees with the necessary tools to ensure compliance with the rules of conduct and financial, campaign, and lobbying disclosure, as well as the public and the media with the necessary information to be adequately informed.

To that end, please note the Quick Links’ addition above. The State Ethics Commission Public Disclosure and Accountability Reporting System is up and running. We encourage you to register if you are required to file Campaign Disclosure forms, Statement of Economic Interests forms or lobbying forms, to include registration and disclosure.   Members of and candidates for the General Assembly and candidates and committees for statewide office are required to file electronically.

We have tried to make this web site as user friendly as possible.  We update our site often and welcome your comments on how we can make the information more accessible and useful to you.  If we can assist you further, please contact us using the link above, or call our office at 803/253-4192.

Sincerely,

Herbert R. Hayden, Jr.
Executive Director
